Ethical Fitness® Seminars
Our one-day Ethical Fitness® Seminar helps you resolve the ethical issues you face daily, both at work and at home. You'll take part in a thought process that can sharpen your responses to ethical challenges, help you gain confidence, and save you time. This dynamic four-step process, based on Rushworth Kidder's seminal book How Good People Make Tough Choices, helps you:
- Become Ethically Aware
First you'll explore and evaluate the current ethical climate in the United States and the world. In this energetic, wide-ranging introduction, ethics is defined and the arguments of ethical relativism are confronted. - Define Values
Next you're ready to identify, test, and rank a set of global values—the core moral values underlying ethics that surface in research we've conducted around the world. - Analyze Ethics
Then, using real-life, right-versus-right stories, you'll be ready to articulate the shared values that are in conflict in each circumstance and identify your ethical choices according to four dilemma paradigms. - Resolve Dilemmas
Finally, you'll see ways to resolve these situations using three practical resolution principles—ends-based, rule-based, and care-based—that can help you in all areas of your everyday life.
The Ethical Fitness® process, which provides the conceptual framework for the Institute's decision-making methodology, is available through a variety of avenues. We regularly offer Ethical Fitness® Seminars through our locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, and they can be arranged worldwide. In addition, we tailor seminars and workshops to fit the schedules and interests of corporations, schools, nonprofits, government and military entitites, professional groups, and faith communities around the world. We operate an active train-the-trainer program for organizations and maintain a network of trainers. The Ethical Fitness® process also underlies our online training module, our consulting and research activities, and our extensive public speaking engagements. Is there a role for our work in your business or community?

Teacher Workshops | Staff Development
Our goal in schools is to help staff members define the core, shared values they have in common, to discuss what those values should mean in action, and to encourage the development of character through instructional methodologies that promote ethical awareness in children.
